I've been craving homemade pasta salad like a mad woman! I'm sure it has everything to do with this week's heat wave, lets just say it is a whopping 93 degrees today!!!
To make a long story short, I was browsing this week's grocery store ads for the best prices on pasta salad veggies (tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumber, etc.), and my oh my tomatoes are pricey! The cost of vine ripened tomatoes really makes me want to plant my own veggie garden this year. I went to Home Depot to do a little research, and they have tomato, bell pepper, zucchini, cilantro, jalapeno, and strawberry plants- yum! Now the hard part...I have to figure out how to protect the budding tomatoes from Maggie (the lab), as our previous labs in years past would pick (and eat!) the tomatoes a day before we would go to pick them...without fail! :)
Do you have a vegetable garden? If so, is there any advice you're willing to share with a newbie? Thanks!
