Quilt Recipes

I know that I've used this story before, but I've seriously had a bad case of blogger's block for the past week or so. I've had the urge to connect and share with all, but just can't think of a worthy topic! :( Long story short, I called over to my parent's house to pick their brains for worthy blog topics, my Dad thought I should let everyone know that he is home (in California) for my sister's wedding on Saturday...and my Momma thought I should share the Moda Bake Shop with all (just in case you haven't already discovered it!). Technically I've satisfied both of their suggestions! :)

The Moda Bake Shop is a regularly updated blog that provides free online 'recipes' (patterns/tutorials) from an assortment of designers and shops. All of the recipes feature Moda's pre-cut fabric packs (charm packs, dessert rolls, honey buns, jelly rolls, layer cakes, and turnovers).

Recently this Candy Hearts Quilt (pictured above), and designed by Gigi's Thimble was posted to the Bake Shop
- how cute and perfect is this quilt! My Momma is making the Candy Hearts Quilt for a baby girl (who has yet to make her grand appearance) using the Blush Basic Grey charm pack for the for the hearts (the background, rick rac, and fabric for the horizontal strips have not yet been selected). I love making baby quilts, although am 100% over making this pattern (#1 and 2, 3, 4), if all goes well with the Candy Hearts Quilt (I offered to by my Momma's assistant), perhaps it will be my 'go to' baby girl quilt pattern! I'll let you know how it is to cut out and sew 35 hearts!

  1. I love this quilt! I think my daughter would love this, although if it's for a baby, I'll have to modify it to fit her twin size bed...now that would be a lot of hearts to cut out!
