Market Research- Results!
Thank you again for voting, as your input will help me build a better shop for YOU!
P.S.- I finished a nursing cover-up over the weekend (a photo is posted on Squirmy Worm Studio's Facebook page if you are interested!). :) This week's task is to design a great and functional diaper clutch for the mom on-the-go. If you have any specifications you would like for me to consider, please feel free to contact me at cmyersdoyle@aol.com!

TGIF!
Thank Goodness It's Friday!!!
Tonight Mr. D and I have a home cooked dinner and movie night planned (it's my turn to pick the rental); I'm so excited to be watching a movie rather than wishing there was something halfway decent to watch on TV!
With the lack of quality TV programs on Friday night, I always think back to my childhood. Monday through Thursday evenings were spent finishing homework, at swim practice, and at sewing lessons. Our extracurricular activities left little time for time in front of the television (thank you Momma!). Everything changed when Friday rolled around as the family gathered in front of the TV, with snacks in hand, to watch ABC's TGIF line up (circa late 80's - mid 90's). Remember Perfect Strangers, Full House, Mr. Belvedere, Family Matters, Dinosaurs, Boy Meets World, Step by Step, Sister Sister, Hangin' With Mr. Cooper, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch?
So many good times and great memories- which show was your favorite TGIF program (mine was a toss up between Full House, Boy Meets World, and Step by Step!)?

Sneak Peak...Fabric!
Truth be told, I've had my eye on Riley Blake fabric from the get go (I should preface by saying that I've never been a fan of baby-baby fabric...you know what I'm taking about- right?). Thus, Squirmy Worm Studio will be the place to find bags and accessories for mom and baby made from hip baby fabric!. See for yourself...
Which two baby girl fabrics are your favorite?

Which three things would you be most inclined to buy online?

2. Burp Cloth Kits (white 6-ply burp cloths + fabric + ric rac + instructions for the crafty mom/grandma/aunt/friend).
3. Nursing Cover-Ups (cotton privacy shields with an adjustable strap and boning, allowing a continuous view of your little one).
4. Diaper Clutch (special clutch for the mom on the go…holds a couple diapers and a wipes case).
5. Wet Bag (cotton zippered bag with waterproof lining for wet diapers/clothes/swim suits).
6. Diaper Bag (cotton bag with interior pockets, and quilt batting sewn between the layers).
7. Fabric (for the crafty mom/grandma/aunt/friend that wants to make their own burp cloths, wet bags, etc.).
8. Notions (ribbon and jumbo ric rac {measuring 1 13/32”}).
9. Crayon Rolls (for the older brothers and sisters- rolls keep crayons neatly organized while on the go and easily fit into mom’s purse/tote bag/diaper bag).
Thanks in advance for your participation! :)

Tennessee's On My Mind
Mr. D is in Tennessee this week visiting his Dad and step-mom, with a quick trip to Atlanta to visit his sisters and nieces. Being home alone I've had some extra free time and wanted to share some photos with you from our (Mr. D and I) last trip to Tennessee last April.
Most of you know that I work in an architecture office by day and blog/sew/craft at night (my favorite part of the day!). With my architecture background, my father-in-law thought that I'd greatly appreciate the efforts of the designer and builder of the world's tallest treehouse, built from recycled wood.
Horace Burgess is the man and minister behind the treehouse. It rises a whopping 97 feet into the sky, the support provided by a live, 80-foot-tall oak tree, which measures 12 feet in diameter at its base. The treehouse consists of 10 floors which includes a sanctuary (which doubles as a basketball court), contains +/- 258,000 nails, and is estimated to be between 8,000 to 10,000 square feet.
The treehouse, located in Crossville, Tennessee, attracts approximately 400 - 500 visits weekly. Visitors are free to roam around the treehouse, as Mr. D and I did. Still to this day I remember how scared to death I was as the treehouse clearly does not meet all of the building code requirements!!!
The second half of this music video is shot at/within the treehouse. If you like the song listen to the whole thing, but if you just want to see some of the treehouse details and/or scale, the treehouse debuts at about 1 minute and 52 seconds into the music video. Childhood Memories!
I’m a product of the early 80’s, and thus Lolly Dolly is a part of my early childhood memories. I actually was gifted two identical dolls, one which I dubbed Lolly, and conveniently the other was Dolly. The dolls were made by Fisher Price, and were marketed as washable dolls, as they were made of cloth. Lolly Dolly’s body was pink gingham with a plain pink romper, and white ruffled collar. Her plain pink hat had a ruffled trim with light orange yarn hair peeping out from under it (see photo above). Her eyes were blue sewn on fabric buttons and her nose and mouth were embroidered in floss.
Sadly my Lolly Dollies were so well loved that their arms and legs are barely attached as I was known to chew away on their appendages. Earlier this year my Momma and I were browsing Etsy (well I was browsing and then called my Momma with excitement) as low and behold an original Lolly Dolly popped up in the Recently Listed item section (they have an awesome vintage category)! Being the awesome Mom that she is, my Momma purchased the Lolly Dolly for me for sentimental reasons, and who knows- if one day Mr. D and I have a little girl she might get to have her very own Lolly Dolly! Yeah for childhood memories! :)

Quilt Recipes
The Moda Bake Shop is a regularly updated blog that provides free online 'recipes' (patterns/tutorials) from an assortment of designers and shops. All of the recipes feature Moda's pre-cut fabric packs (charm packs, dessert rolls, honey buns, jelly rolls, layer cakes, and turnovers).
Recently this Candy Hearts Quilt (pictured above), and designed by Gigi's Thimble was posted to the Bake Shop- how cute and perfect is this quilt! My Momma is making the Candy Hearts Quilt for a baby girl (who has yet to make her grand appearance) using the Blush Basic Grey charm pack for the for the hearts (the background, rick rac, and fabric for the horizontal strips have not yet been selected). I love making baby quilts, although am 100% over making this pattern (#1 and 2, 3, 4), if all goes well with the Candy Hearts Quilt (I offered to by my Momma's assistant), perhaps it will be my 'go to' baby girl quilt pattern! I'll let you know how it is to cut out and sew 35 hearts!

Focused Space Rangers
I seem to ALWAYS forget my camera when heading to D-land, but thankfully the Astro Blasters ride has a free service where you can send a photo to your email account (see below). I'm not quite sure at what point in the ride the photo was taken, but from the looks of it we were two very focused Space Rangers!
